Thanks for being here.

We see you, we hear you, and most of all, we want to help you to get support for a friend or yourself.

Never a Bother is a campaign launched in 2024 by California Department of Public Health’s Office of Suicide Prevention. Our big goal is to prevent suicide among teens and young adults in California. We also want to reduce self-harm, while encouraging friends to recognize the power they have to support someone in crisis.

Tell them they can reach out to you for help — always. And you can reach out for help too, whenever you need it. Because you’re never a bother.

At every stage of its development, youth from across California helped shape our campaign’s concept, design, and messaging. That includes partnerships with community-based organizations and tribal partners, diverse focus groups, and guidance from our youth advisory board, whose members are all between the ages of 16 and 25.

They also shared their own stories for the Never a Bother campaign.
